Longyearbyen Sightseeing in Chinese
Discover Longyearbyen, the world’s northernmost settlement, on a comprehensive three-hour sightseeing tour in Chinese that gives you a thorough introduction to Svalbard from your first day.
The tour follows most of the road network in and around Longyearbyen and combines Arctic landscapes, cultural history and modern infrastructure in one experience. With only a limited road network on the archipelago, this is an efficient way to see many of the area’s most important sights in a few hours.
The journey begins in Adventdalen, one of Svalbard’s most iconic valleys, known for its open tundra, wildlife and historical traces of mining. Your guide explains Arctic nature, permafrost and the development of Longyearbyen from a mining community into a modern centre for research and tourism.
The tour continues west towards the airport area and viewpoints over Adventfjorden, including the Svalbard Global Seed Vault and Arctic World Archive, before focusing on daily life, logistics, safety rules and living conditions in Longyearbyen. It is an ideal first activity after arriving in Svalbard.
